Job Description
As the Tours Manager, you will be at the forefront of crafting exceptional travel experiences for our guests. The ideal candidate will be passionate about travel and tourism, with a strong background in tour operations, particularly in the East African region. As a Tours Manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing tours and safaris, as well as managing a team of tour consultants and reservations staff.
Key Responsibilities
Utilize your extensive knowledge of luxury properties to recommend and secure accommodations, activities, and experiences that align with clients’ preferences.
Engage with high-end clientele, both overseas and domestic, to understand their backgrounds, preferences, and interests, creating bespoke itineraries that cater to their needs.
Collaborate with hotels, tour operators, and transport providers to ensure the seamless execution of clients’ itineraries.
Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, managing multiple reservations simultaneously with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Develop and nurture strong client relationships, anticipating their needs and providing personalized service.
Stay abreast of industry trends, new luxury properties, and local attractions to continuously enhance our offerings and provide exceptional service.
Managing a team of tour consultants and reservations staff, including training and performance management.
Overseeing the planning and execution of tours, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
Managing tour budgets and ensuring profitability.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years’ experience in luxury tours, with a strong focus on serving an international clientele.
- In-depth knowledge of luxury properties and attractions in East Africa, particularly those appealing to high-net-worth guests.
- Strong existing relationships with high-end accommodation providers, coupled with the ability to forge new partnerships effectively.
- Awareness of a wide range of holiday accommodation options, from high-end safari camps and lodges to luxury beach villas, private holiday homes, boutique hotels, and other unique accommodations.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with clients, demonstrate empathy, understanding, tact, confidence, and persuasiveness.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and oversee a small team, independently demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness.
- Awareness of the commercial, financial, and marketing aspects of the business.
- Travel and Tourism course and able to use Microsoft Office and Wetu Software.
