Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transport Manager to join our team. The Transport Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our transport operation, including fleet management, driver management, transport logistics, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the company’s fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are well-maintained, serviced regularly, and comply with all legal requirements.
- Supervise a team of drivers, ensuring they are trained, licensed, and adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
- Plan and organize transport schedules, routes, and vehicle assignments to meet customer requirements efficiently.
- Monitor and control transport costs, including fuel, maintenance, and repairs, to ensure the operation remains profitable.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to transport operations and safety.
- Provide a high level of customer service by ensuring safe, reliable, and timely transportation for clients.
- Develop and implement procedures for handling emergencies, such as accidents or breakdowns, to minimize disruptions to the operation.
- Identify the need for new vehicles, research options, and oversee the acquisition process.
- Implement measures to minimize the environmental impact of the transport operation, such as fuel-efficient driving practices and vehicle maintenance.
- Provide regular reports on transport performance, including key metrics such as vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and on-time performance.
Qualifications
- Qualification in Transport Management OR Tours Course, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in transport management, preferably in the tourism or hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan transport laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
